Fresh LP Gas adds third LPG carrier, expands fleet to 6,000 tonnes
Fresh LP Gas, a concern of Meghna Group of Industries (MGI), has added a 2,000-tonne LPG carrier to strengthen its fleet and meet the country's growing demand for liquefied petroleum gas.
According to a press release, the new vessel, MT Mercantile-65, will transport imported LPG from Kutubdia Anchorage and Chattogram Outer Anchorage to the company's plants in Meghnaghat and Mongla.
With the latest procurement, Fresh LP Gas now operates three dedicated LPG carriers, each with a capacity of 2,000 tonnes, for a combined fleet capacity of 6,000 tonnes.

The expanded fleet is expected to improve transportation efficiency, strengthen supply-chain reliability and ensure an uninterrupted LPG supply across Bangladesh.
MGI Director Tanveer Mostafa said, "Fresh LP Gas remains committed to ensuring a safe, efficient and reliable supply of LPG to the domestic market," adding that the company will continue investing in transportation and logistics to meet the country's growing LPG demand, improve supply-chain reliability and support national energy security.
Fresh LP Gas Chief Marketing Officer Abu Sayed Raza said the new carrier would help the company maintain a steady year-round supply, meet rising demand and extend LPG access to underserved areas.
