12kg LPG cylinder price cut by Tk13 to Tk1,585
The price of autogas used in vehicles has also been cut by Tk0.58 per litre to Tk73.09.
The price of the 12kg cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been cut by Tk13 for September, bringing the rate down to Tk1,585 from Tk1,598.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the new price today (2 September), with the revised rate taking effect from 6pm.
The commission has reduced the LPG price by Tk1.03 per kg.
The latest price is still Tk57 higher than in July, when a 12kg cylinder cost Tk1,528. It was increased by Tk70 in August.
The prices of different LPG cylinder sizes have also been adjusted. A 5.5kg cylinder will cost Tk727, while 12.5kg, 15kg, 16kg, 18kg, 20kg, 22kg, 25kg, 30kg, 33kg, 35kg and 45kg cylinders will cost Tk1,652, Tk1,982, Tk2,114, Tk2,378, Tk2,642, Tk2,907, Tk3,303, Tk3,964, Tk4,360, Tk4,624 and Tk5,945, respectively.
BERC said the latest adjustment was based on the average Saudi CP (contract price) for September, which stood at $647.75 per tonne.
The commission calculated the new LPG price based on the Saudi CP, freight charges, traders' premiums and an average exchange rate of Tk123.30 per US dollar.
Meanwhile, the price of autogas used in vehicles has been reduced by Tk0.58 per litre to Tk73.09 from Tk73.67.
