SSC, equivalent exam candidates can seek re-evaluation of original scripts: Minister
Unlike previous reviews, students will be able to have their original answer scripts examined to ensure they receive the marks they deserve, he says.
Students who do not receive the marks they expect in this year's SSC and equivalent examinations will be able to have their original answer scripts re-evaluated, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon said today (10 August).
"Not just the tabulation sheet, the student's original answer script will be checked to ensure they receive the marks they deserve," he said at the results publication ceremony for the SSC and equivalent examinations 2026.
The minister said answer scripts would be re-evaluated if a student was awarded incorrect marks or did not receive the marks they deserved. A review committee will be formed for this purpose, he added.

Previously, the review process mainly involved checking tabulation sheets, the minister said, adding that there was no opportunity to re-examine a student's answer script to verify whether the teacher had awarded the appropriate marks.
"This time, the opportunity to have every student's answer script re-evaluated has been provided legally," he said.
This year, a total of 1,829,485 students appeared in the SSC and equivalent examinations, of whom 1,138,877 passed. The overall pass rate was 62.25%, while 116,676 students secured GPA-5.
