SSC GPA-5 achievers fall for fourth straight year
This year’s figure is 22,356 lower than last year’s 1,39,032 GPA-5 achievers.
The number of GPA-5 achievers in the SSC and equivalent examinations has fallen for the fourth consecutive year, dropping to 1,16,676 this year from 2,69,602 in 2022.
The results of the SSC examinations were published at around 10am today (10 August) at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education.
According to ministry statistics, the number of top scorers has been falling every year since 2022. It declined to 1,83,578 in 2023, 1,82,129 in 2024, and 1,39,032 in 2025, before falling further this year.

This year's figure is 22,356 lower than last year's 1,39,032 GPA-5 achievers.
Of this year's GPA-5 achievers, 63,896 were girls and 52,780 boys.
Under the nine general education boards, 1,06,009 students secured GPA-5 this year.
The Dhaka board recorded the highest number of GPA-5 achievers among the general boards, with 33,253 students, followed by Rajshahi with 16,113 and Dinajpur with 13,639.
A total of 6,716 students secured GPA-5 under the Madrasah Education Board, while 3,951 achieved the top grade under the Technical Education Board.
The overall pass rate in this year's SSC and equivalent examinations stood at 62.25%, down from 68.45% last year.
