House Democrats are preparing a broad investigation strategy targeting companies, financial firms and donors linked to President Donald Trump. Potential probes could examine major corporations, 1789 Capital, government contracts, Venezuelan oil deals, Trump's cryptocurrency interests and media transactions.

Democrats say they want to build a "body of evidence" through subpoenas, hearings and document requests before considering impeachment if they regain the House majority.
