Death warrant read out to war criminal, Syed Kaiser
On Wednesday, the Appellate Division published the verdict upholding the death penalty given by the ICT on 14 January

The death warrant for war criminal, Syed Mohammad Kaiser, was read out to him at the Dhaka Central Jail on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) issued the warrant and sent it to the relevant offices, including the Central Jail authorities.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Jail Superintendent, Suvash Ghosh, said, "After hearing the death warrant, Syed Kaiser said he would file a petition seeking review of the Appellate Division verdict that upheld the death sentence awarded to him by the ICT."
On Wednesday, the Appellate Division published the verdict upholding the death penalty given by the ICT on 14 January.
A Muslim League leader in 1971, Kaiser was sentenced to death after being found guilty of murder, arson, loot, rape and genocide in Brahmanbaria and Habiganj during the War of Independence.
