UK and 11 NATO Allies Launch Deep Precision Strike Initiative
The United Kingdom has announced a major new defence initiative at the NATO summit in Ankara, leading a coalition of 12 countries to develop the Deep Precision Strike project. Backed by more than £37 billion ($50 billion) in funding over the next decade, the programme aims to deliver long-range missiles capable of striking high-value military targets with greater precision.
The announcement comes as NATO members commit to increasing defence spending and strengthening Europe's security amid rising tensions with Russia. Moscow has dismissed the project, while Ukraine continues to call for additional air defence support as it faces ongoing missile and drone attacks.
