PRAN Dairy, ATEC to expand biogas technology for farmers
PRAN Dairy Limited and ATEC Australia International Limited have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand eco-friendly biogas technology among dairy farmers in 27 districts of Bangladesh.
The agreement was recently signed at the PRAN Group headquarters in Badda, Dhaka, to implement the "SobujShakti Biodigester" programme, which aims to provide affordable, environmentally friendly biogas technology to rural dairy farmers.
Under the initiative, ATEC Australia International Limited will supply modern biodigester systems that convert cow dung into clean biogas for household cooking and produce organic fertiliser for agricultural use.
PRAN Dairy Limited will support the programme through its extensive network of dairy farmers across the 27 districts, helping promote the adoption of the technology at the field level.
The initiative is expected to help farmers use renewable energy for cooking, reduce dependence on conventional fuels, improve soil fertility through organic fertiliser and contribute to a cleaner rural environment.
PRAN Group Managing Director Md Eleash Mridha and ATEC Australia International Limited Managing Director Shuvasish Bhowmick signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the agreement, PRAN Dairy's field teams will assist in farmer identification, awareness-building and local-level coordination. ATEC Australia International Limited will be responsible for farmer training, product supply, biodigester installation and after-sales services.
"PRAN Dairy has long been committed to improving the livelihoods of dairy farmers, and this initiative will further strengthen those efforts by providing farmers with an affordable and sustainable solution," Md Eleash Mridha said.
"This partnership will create greater access to clean energy solutions for rural farming families and play an important role in advancing sustainable development," Shuvasish Bhowmick said.
PRAN Dairy Limited Chief Operating Officer Maksudur Rahman, Deputy General Manager Sharif Uddin Tarafdar, Operation Manager Zihadul Kabir, Head of Marketing Syed Mustayeen Kader; ATEC Australia International Limited Head of Sales-Bangladesh Md Hasibur Hassan Rahman and Assistant Manager-Sales Nafiul Islam were present at the event, among others.
