High Court grants bail to Momtaz in 3 cases
The three cases include two murder cases and one attempted murder case.
The High Court has granted bail to former member of parliament and singer Momtaz Begum in three cases, including a case filed with Mirpur Police Station in the capital over the killing of a man during the July Uprising.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice ABM Robiul Hasan passed the order today (15 June).
Senior lawyers Motahar Hossain Saju, Barrister Sara Hossain and Advocate Khairun Nessa represented Momtaz before the court.
Lawyers said she will not be released from custody immediately as several other cases remain pending against her.
Earlier, the High Court had issued a rule asking why Momtaz Begum should not be granted bail in the three cases, including the Sagar murder case filed with Mirpur Police Station.
The court disposed of the rule and granted bail today.
On 17 May 2025, Momtaz Begum was sent to jail by a Dhaka court after being interrogated on a four-day remand.
She was arrested by the DB Police on 12 May last year and has remained in custody since.
Momtaz served multiple terms as a member of parliament from the Manikganj-2 constituency representing the Awami League.
