Ekkademy launches AI-integrated ed-tech platform in Dhaka
Bangladeshi ed-tech startup Ekkademy has launched a platform built around one question: Are learners actually improving, or are they simply watching more content?
The start-up's answer is a suite of AI-powered tools designed to track retention and engagement rather than hours logged.
Its Attentive Learning Engine monitors whether a learner is paying attention during a video lesson, triggers quizzes mid-session, and — if a learner answers incorrectly — sends them back to the exact timestamp where the concept was taught.
A live-class feature called EdRoom gives teachers a real-time dashboard showing which students have gone inactive or disengaged, allowing them to intervene directly.
A third tool, Intelligent Learning Markup, lets learners highlight content, take notes, and translate material without leaving the platform.
The platform has launched with IELTS and English language programmes. Expansion into communication skills, professional development, and academic support is planned for later phases. Unusually, the company also targets parents — on the premise that stronger parental communication skills shape a better learning environment at home.
Ekkademy held its go-live ceremony at Sheba Bhaban, Dhanmondi, on Thursday.
Managing Director Rifat S Rahman and Chief Innovation Officer Md Mosheul Islam Maruf chaired the event, which drew guests from education, technology, business, and media.
Rahman's keynote argued that most existing platforms confuse content consumption with learning. A presentation by the team walked attendees through the platform's design and intended use cases.
The evening also included a recognition segment in which every team member was individually awarded — a gesture the management said reflected the culture they intend to carry forward.
