Titon murder suspects identified, arrests could come anytime: DB
Titon, 42, was shot dead by miscreants in the capital’s New Market area on 28 April.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective Branch Additional Commissioner Shafiqul Islam today (12 May) said investigators have identified the suspects involved in the murder of the listed top criminal Khandaker Naim Ahmed alias Titon, and arrests could be made at any time.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with the killing.
Shafiqul Islam made the remarks while responding to questions at a press briefing held at the DMP Media Centre over the arrest of five members of an inter-district robbery gang.
Asked whether those involved in the murder had fled the country, he said, "We are investigating the case. At this stage, it cannot be said whether the accused are in the country or abroad. However, we are working on it."
Responding to another question, he said, "We have brought the suspects involved in the murder into a framework and identified them. As you know, various issues have surfaced in the media following the killing. We have considered all aspects. Keeping everything in mind, we are proceeding with the investigation."
