Bangladeshi killed in UAE as drone debris falls on farm
Earlier, two Bangladeshi nationals were killed, and seven others sustained injuries due to missile and drone attacks in different parts of the Middle East.
A Bangladeshi national was killed after shrapnel from a drone interception fell on a farm in the Al Rifaa area of the United Arab Emirates, said Emirates News Agency-WAM news.
The deceased, Md Shah Alam Bhuiyan, 50, was the second son of Hanif Bhuiyan of Ismail Bhuiyan Bari in Jiruin village under Sahebabad Union of Brahmanpara upazila. He was a father of four. After completing a three-month leave, he returned to his workplace last year.
According to family sources, early this morning (1 April), a warning siren was sounded in the Dibba Al-Fujairah area, prompting people to move to safer locations. At that time, while on his way to work, Shah Alam Bhuiyan was struck by debris from a drone and died on the spot. Locals claimed that the wreckage fell in the area after a drone launched from Iran was shot down.
As news of the incident spread, a wave of grief engulfed his family in Brahmanpara. Locals have demanded that his body be brought back to the country as soon as possible.
Brahmanpara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahamuda Jahan said that efforts would be made at the state level to bring his body back home.
Local union parishad member Zakir Hossain said Shah Alam had been living in the United Arab Emirates since 2013, adding that his death is deeply tragic.

In the United Arab Emirates, Saleh Ahmed, a Bangladeshi national from Baralekha, Sylhet, lost his life in Ajman after being struck by debris resulting from an aerial attack on a civilian installation on 1 March.
On 8 March, two people, a Bangladeshi and an Indian, were killed and 12 others injured in a missile strike in central Saudi Arabia, the country's civil defence agency reported on X.
In the State of Kuwait, four Bangladeshi nationals, Aminul Islam from Nabinagar, Brahmanbaria; Rabiul Islam from Sathia, Pabna; Masudur Rahman from Begumganj, Noakhali; and Dulal Miah from Chandina, Cumilla, sustained injuries following a drone attack in the vicinity of the civilian airport.
