Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has requested India to open a 2 km road at the Indo-Bangladesh border at Mujibnagar.

The Foreign Minister made the request during a meeting with Indian High Commissioner Riva Ganguly at the state guest house, Padma in Dhaka today.

"Tourists from India can easily visit the historic Mujibnagar, if the road is opened"- the minister said.

The minister also emphasised the timely completion of various projects built under the Indian 'Line of Credit'.

The Foreign Minister further requested the opening of the land ports of India with Bangladesh which were closed due to the Corona epidemic.

He mentioned that this will make it easier for citizens of the two countries to travel across the border by road.
