Mild 4.0-magnitude earthquake shakes Dhaka, epicentre in Sylhet

A mild earthquake was felt in Dhaka and its adjoining areas this evening (10 February), according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The tremor occurred at 5:32pm and was of mild intensity, the met office said.
The quake, which measured 4.0 on the Richter scale, had its epicentre in Gowainghat, Sylhet.
It was located about 214 kilometres northeast of the BMD's Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.
