Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman today (9 February) pledged that Mamunul Haque, ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, would be made a minister if the 11-party alliance wins the election.
"If the 11-party alliance wins with the love, support and votes of the people, the country will get a dignified minister, not just a representative for Dhaka-13," he said while addressing an election rally of the 11-party alliance for the Dhaka-13 constituency at the Mohammadpur Central Eidgah ground.
He added that Mamunul Haque would not only raise the issues of the Dhaka-13 constituency in parliament, but also speak for the rights of the country's 180 million people.
Earlier, Shafiqur had made similar pledges, promising ministerial posts to Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Rafiqul Islam Khan in Sirajganj and Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdullah Mohammed Taher in Cumilla.
Most recently, on Sunday, the Jamaat chief also announced that NCP leader Nahid Islam would be made a minister.
