Dhaka Bank hosts 11th Victory Day Cup Golf Tournament at Army Golf Club
The 11th Dhaka Bank Victory Day Cup Golf Tournament 2025 began on 10 December and continued for four days.
The tee-off programme was held on Friday, 12 December, at 9:30am, and the tournament officially concluded on 13 December at 7:30pm with a prize distribution ceremony and gala night.
General Waker-Uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, chief of army staff of Bangladesh Army and chief patron of Army Golf Club, attended as chief guest. Abdul Hai Sarker, chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC, was present as special guest. Other distinguished attendees included ATM Hayatuzzaman Khan, founder vice-chairman of Dhaka Bank PLC; Reshadur Rahman, director of Dhaka Bank PLC; and Altaf Hossain Sarker, former director of Dhaka Bank PLC. Dhaka Bank honoured freedom fighter golfers during the closing ceremony as part of Victory Day celebrations to invigorate the spirit of the Liberation War.
AKM Shahnawaj, managing director (current charge) of Dhaka Bank PLC, and Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed, OSP, ndc, afwc, psc, president of Army Golf Club, were also present. Among others were Md Mostaque Ahmed, deputy managing director of Dhaka Bank PLC; Syed Ghulam Dastagir, SVP and head of communications and branding division of Dhaka Bank PLC; senior officials of Dhaka Bank; and Brigadier General Syed Ahmed Ali, PBGM, ndc (retd), chief executive officer of Army Golf Club.
Dhaka Bank has organised the Victory Day Cup Golf Tournament for the 11th consecutive time in association with Army Golf Club as the valued sponsor. The tournament featured five categories for amateur golfers: senior, junior, regular, ladies, and veteran. Approximately 900 golfers, including foreign players, participated in the event.
