Metro rail to be suspended for 40 minutes for Victory Day parajumping show
In a notice, the metro rail authority stated that the temporary halt is necessary to ensure the safety of the paratroopers during the parajumping display scheduled to take place over the Tejgaon Old Airport area.
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced a temporary suspension of metro rail services tomorrow (16 December) in observance of the "Victory Day", due to a planned parajumping event near the Tejgaon Old Airport area.
The metro rail service will be suspended for a short duration, from 11:50am to 12:30pm that day.
In a notice, the metro rail authority stated that the temporary halt is necessary to ensure the safety of the paratroopers during the parajumping display scheduled to take place over the Tejgaon Old Airport area.
The notice, addressed to the passengers, states, "It is hereby informed that due to the parajumping event to be held at Tejgaon Old Airport area on the occasion of Great Victory Day, metro rail movement will be temporarily suspended from 11:50am to 12:30pm on 16 December for the safety of the paratroopers. The metro rail authority sincerely regrets the temporary inconvenience caused to esteemed passengers in providing service."
DMTCL requested the cooperation of all passengers for the temporary disruption in service.
