Dhaka’s rail link with Mymensingh restored after 3 hours
Rail communication on Dhaka-Mymensingh route, which was suspended after the engine of a train went out of order in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila, was restored after three hours this evening (6 December).
Md Shamim, Sreepur station master, said the Dhaka-bound "Balaka" commuter train from Mymensingh went out of order near Satkhamair station of Sreepur around 4:30pm, halting train movement.
Eyewitnesses and passengers said the Dhaka-bound Balaka commuter train arrived at Kawraid station in Sreepur around 4pm. Moments after leaving the station, a sudden loud noise erupted from the train's engine, causing the train to slow abruptly.
Sreepur station master Md Shamim said the train movement was restored around 7:30pm.
