BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has announced that imams and khatibs (religious figures in mosque leadership) will receive a permanent honorarium if the party is voted to power in the upcoming national elections.
He made the statement while speaking virtually from London at the National Imam-Khatib Conference held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in the capital today (23 November).
