Bus set on fire in front of TV station in Rampura

A Victor Classic bus parked under the flyover loop opposite the Bangladesh Television (BTV) building in Rampura was set on fire by unidentified miscreants last night (20 November).
The incident occurred around 10pm.
Two units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and, with assistance from police personnel, managed to bring the blaze under control, said Fire Service duty officer Rakibul Hasan.
"We received the report of the fire at night and immediately dispatched two units. They were able to extinguish the flames. However, there is no immediate information on how the fire was started," he added.
Local residents told reporters they were unsure who set the bus ablaze. Upon seeing flames, they alerted the police.
Hatirjheel Police Station Sub-Inspector Ibrahim Khalil said a team was sent to the location after receiving the report of a bus fire in Rampura. Senior police officials have also inspected the scene.
He further said that the bus had been parked there and the cause of the fire is still unknown. Police have collected nearby CCTV footage and are investigating how the incident occurred.
