Moinul Khan has around ten months of service remaining
The Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC) Chairman Moinul Khan has resigned from his position citing personal reasons.
On 30 October, he submitted his resignation from the post of chairman along with an application for voluntary retirement to the secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of Commerce before leaving for Umrah on the same day, according to ministry sources.
Moinul Khan has around ten months of service remaining.
When asked about the matter, Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman told The Business Standard that Moinul Khan had submitted his resignation letters to both the Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of Commerce.
"He is currently performing Umrah. Discussions regarding his resignation will be held after he returns to the country," he said.
However, Mahbubur also mentioned that many officials at times submit resignation or voluntary retirement applications and later withdraw them.
Earlier, on 20 October, a government order (GO) issued by the Ministry of Commerce stated that he had been approved for a 20-day leave from 26 October to 14 November.
