Whether one is new to the world of watches or simply an art collector, one has to admit that luxury watches are true style statements for both sexes. Although every piece of gadget these days has an in-built watch in it, a beautifully crafted wristwatch never loses its charm.

Swiss-made watches are globally renowned for their high-quality construction, first-rate designs and reliability. Listed below are five world famous Swiss brands that are available in Dhaka.

Zenith

Zenith's Defy El Primero 21 series features 18-carat glossy gold or brushed titanium cases with a touch of diamond royalty. These high-priced watches cost from Tk5 lakh to Tk11 lakh.

RADO

RADO from Switzerland is a key player in the international luxury watch market. With unique series like Ceramica, DiaMaster and Centrix, this brand can quench your thirst for statement pieces.  Price for this series goes up to seven and a half lakh.

TAG Heuer

Would you like to surprise people with grace? What about a calfskin strap with 62 tiny, iridescent diamonds? Spend about five to six lakh taka to buy one from the TAG Heuer Diamond series and proudly display the plush piece.

Tissot

Play with Tissot if you want to collect more gold and diamonds. Tissot is ready for your special order for its Sculpture Line Mechanical 18k gold series. Thanks to its intricate designs, you can see the fascinating mechanical movement through multiple windows. This series is going to cost around six lakh taka.

Longines

Longines has been known for producing exquisite timers for both men and women for almost two centuries. Heritage, Conquest Classic, Symphonette, DolceVita and PrimaLuna are their finest gold and diamond collections, ranging from Tk5 lakh to Tk14.5 lakh.

Where to buy these exquisite watches?

Counterfeit watches are available all over the market but surely, those who want to indulge in luxury do not want to wear fake items.

In order to get hold of the original branded beauties, there are shops such as Mohammad & Sons who are the official local distributors of premium brands like Zenith, Movado and TAG Heuer.

Its General Manager Safayet Chowdhury said, "Whenever a customer learns the history behind a brand, it makes them long for it more. So we never compromise with quality because brands matter a lot to our clients."

"Lavish watches are like wearable diamonds, they define your class and they also show your good taste," said Nilima Shikder, head of the RADO store in Bashundhara City shopping mall.

So, if you do not want to lose to imposters, search the Internet first and only buy from the original dealers.
