When a responsible official declares a project cancelled, the formal paperwork is just a matter of time, said LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain regarding the recent confusion over how many deals with India Bangladesh has cancelled.
The confusion arose after Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain on 21 October said that the list of cancelled Indian projects circulating on social media was not true and that only one such project has been cancelled.
On 19 October, Adviser Asif Mahmud had shared a list on Facebook, claiming 10 agreements signed with India during Sheikh Hasina's regime were cancelled while the rest are under consideration.

In a Facebook post yesterday (21 October), Asif Mahmud said, "I don't really understand this bureaucratic language about 'it can't be called cancelled until it's signed on paper'."
"An official announcement of the cancellation has already come from a responsible source, and national dailies have reported it. It just takes a bit more time to complete the official paperwork," he said in the post, which was made in response to a post by one Abdullah Hil Baki who criticised the government officials over the confusion.
