In 2024, 31 countries operate nuclear power plants, with 416 reactors and a total installed net capacity of 376 gigawatts globally. Bangladesh is preparing for the test run of its two WWER-1200 reactors at the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in December 2025, with commercial operation expected in 2026 and 2027.

Note: Megawatt electric is equal to one million watts of electric capacity.
