Bengal Commercial Bank launches entrepreneur programme with Bangladesh Bank

Bengal Commercial Bank has inaugurated a month-long training programme aimed at strengthening the skills and business capacity of entrepreneurs in the Micro, Cottage, Small and Medium Enterprises (CMSME) sector.
The initiative is being implemented under the 'Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP)', a project of the Ministry of Finance, supervised by Bangladesh Bank and financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Md Nazrul Islam, Director (CC) of Bangladesh Bank's SME and Special Programmes Department (SMESPD), inaugurated the training programme at the Bengal Commercial Bank Training Centre in Dilkusha, Dhaka. Dr Md Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer of the bank, presided over the ceremony.
Also present were Rafiq Ahmad, Head of Human Resources, and Jyotirmoy Chakraborty, Head of SME of Bengal Commercial Bank. Md Ayub Ali, Joint Director and DPD of Bangladesh Bank's SMESPD, presented the training overview.
The month-long programme will provide entrepreneurs with practical knowledge in business planning, marketing, financing, and other key areas. The sessions will be conducted by experienced trainers from Bangladesh Bank and Bengal Commercial Bank.
According to the organisers, the training will support the creation of new entrepreneurs while helping existing businesses expand to a larger scale, thereby contributing to national economic growth.
