Environment minister recovers from Covid-19, returns home from hospital

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin MP, who was undergoing treatment for coronavirus, has returned home.

He was discharged from the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at noon on Thursday and returned to his official residence at Bailey Road in Dhaka.

Following the advice of the doctors, he will receive the necessary treatment remaining in isolation at home for the next two weeks. The doctors added that he is now safe.

The Minister expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for his recovery and expressed his sincere gratitude to all the people living in the country and abroad, including the people of Baralekha and Juri Upazilas of Moulvibazar constituency, for his immediate recovery.

The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) tested the minister's sample and found it positive on August 12.

On the advice of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka that evening.

He was under the care of Chief Physician Dr Brigadier General Md Abdur Razzak, Prof. Dr Brigadier General Md Azizul Islam and Dr Major Sadia.

The minister also expressed his gratitude to the doctors for providing sincere medical services.
