Equity indices of the Dhaka Stock Exchange traded near the flat line on Thursday, while Chittagong Stock Exchange's benchmark index lost points in the first one-and-half-hour session amid investors' selling mood to bag short term profit.

Meanwhile, turnover on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) trading floor also dropped by 25 percent to Tk363.47 core during the first session, due to floor price limitation.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), advanced only 2.77 points – or 0.05 percent - to reach at 4,793 till 11:30am.

Moreover, the Shariah-based DSES index gained 4.77 percent to settle at 1,099 and the blue-chip index DS30 rose by 3.91 percent to stand at 1,648.

Out of the 348 issues traded during the same time frame, 141 company's share prices advanced, 149 declined, and 58 remained unchanged.

In the corresponding period, the benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) has dropped 20 points to close at 13,706.
