Nuclear weapons spending continued to rise in 2024, with the nine nuclear-armed states allocating $100.2 billion to their arsenals — an increase of $9.9 billion, or 11%, compared to the previous year. Over the past five years (2020–2024), these nations have collectively spent $415.9 billion on nuclear weapons.
