At least 164 people, including children, were hospitalised with burn injuries at several hospitals in Dhaka following a deadly Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training jet crash at a building inside Milestone College in Diabari area in the capital's Uttara this afternoon (21 July).

The injured are being taken to the emergency departments of several hospitals in Uttara, National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS), the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Bangladesh Medical College Hospital, by ambulance.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported injury numbers across different hospitals.

A total of eight injured were admitted at the Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, 70 in NIBPS, and 14 in Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

In Uttara, 11 were admitted in Lubana General Hospital and Cardiac Centre, 60 in Uttara Adhunik Hospital and one in Uttara Crescent Hospital, according to ISPR.

The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft (F-7 BGI), which took off at 1:06pm today (21 July), crashed into a building inside the Milestone College campus and caught fire following an explosion -- leading to multiple casualties.

Personnel from the Bangladesh Army and Fire Service and Civil Defence are working at the scene to rescue victims.
