GPH Ispat contributes to national Labour Welfare Fund

GPH Ispat, one of the country's leading steel manufacturers, has contributed to the Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to industrial worker welfare.
The contribution was made from the company's Workers' Profit Participation Fund (WPPF) and formally handed over at a ceremony held in Dhaka.
At the event, the cheque was presented to Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hussain, Adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, by GPH Ispat Director Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman, Chief People Officer Sharmin Sultan, and Group Chief Financial Officer H.M. Ashraf-Uz-Zaman FCA.
The initiative reflects GPH Ispat's belief that sustainable industrial development must go hand in hand with the prosperity and rights of its workforce. The company stated that it considers such contributions part of its ethical responsibility as a corporate citizen.
"The growth of any industry is inseparable from the well-being of its workers. Our contribution to the Labour Welfare Fund underscores our commitment to a fairer and more inclusive industrial landscape," said a GPH Ispat official.
The Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Fund provides essential services to workers and their families throughout the country. Contributions from responsible private sector organisations, such as GPH Ispat, are crucial in enabling the fund to deliver support to workers in need.
