Govt sends 18 lower court judges on forced retirement
The order, issued in the public interest, will come into effect immediately

The government has sent 18 judges, including Bikash Kumar Saha, previously associated with the Sheikh Hasina administration, on forced retirement citing public interest.
The law ministry published a notification in this regard in line with the directive of the president today (10 July).
The 18 members of the Bangladesh Judicial Service, who completed 25 years of service, have been sent into retirement from their services in the public interest, said the notification.
The decision was taken following the provisions of Section 45 of the Government Services Act, 2018, in consultation with the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, it added.
They will be entitled to get all retirement benefits as per the government rules.
