Titas Gas continues anti-illegal usage drive, disconnects unauthorised and overdue connections

As part of its ongoing efforts to curb illegal gas usage and recover outstanding dues, Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC conducted a series of drives on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in multiple areas under its operational jurisdiction.
In Saturia, under the authority of Zonal Sales Office – Manikganj, a total of 26 stoves connected to 23 residential gas lines were disconnected due to unpaid bills. The disconnections included one metered and 22 non-metered residential connections.
On the same day, a special operation conducted by the Regional Sales Department – Sonargaon, the Regional Revenue Branch – Sonargaon, and teams operating in the Subhakardi and Port areas resulted in the disconnection of 5 additional connections due to similar arrears-related reasons.
In a separate inspection, Area-Based Monitoring Team-2 of the Zonal Sales Office – Sripur visited Sun Power Ceramic Co. Ltd. and Mohammadi Neet Star Ltd. During the inspection, Mohammadi Neet Star Ltd. was found to be using gas for one boiler with a capacity of 470 kg/hour, exceeding its approved limit. Furthermore, a booster was discovered connected to the internal customer gas line—an unauthorised modification.
The irregularities were reported to the appropriate authorities immediately. Following official instructions, the unauthorised equipment was disconnected on site. The gas line was sealed with a temporary paper seal, duly signed, and the emergency response team confiscated the booster.
These drives are part of Titas Gas's routine operations to ensure the lawful use of natural gas, enhance safety, and recover long-standing dues.
