Khalilur Rahman appointed new president of BICDA
He officially assumed the role today (2 July), following the resignation of former president Nurul Qayyum Khan due to health reasons

Vice-President of the Bangladesh Inland Container Depots Association (BICDA) and Chairman of KDS Group Khalilur Rahman has been appointed as the new president of BICDA.
He officially assumed the role today (2 July), following the resignation of former president Nurul Qayyum Khan due to health reasons.
The decision to appoint Khalilur Rahman as president was made during a general meeting of BICDA, where he was unanimously supported by the members present and the majority of the association's membership.
BICDA represents the country's private inland container depots (ICDs).
The meeting was attended by several key stakeholders and industry leaders, including Jawhar Rizvi, managing director, Summit Alliance Port Ltd, Mostafizur Rahman, managing director, BM Container Depot Ltd, Haji Mohammad Hossain, managing director, Eshak Brothers Industries Ltd, Imran Fahim Noor, managing director, Vertex Offdock Logistics Services, Benazir Chowdhury Nishan, director, Golden Containers Ltd, Yaser Rizvi, managing director, Ispahani Summit Alliance Terminals Ltd, Syed Fazlul Haque, managing director, Sofi Motors Ltd, Captain Kamrul Islam Majumder, director, Summit Alliance Port Ltd, Mohsin Sarkar, managing director, Incontrade Ltd, Shahnewaz Mohammad Ali Chowdhury, managing director, Nemsan Container Ltd, Arshadul Amin Chowdhury, deputy managing director, Anchorage Container Depot Ltd, Salimullah Khan, Project Director, Baylink Containers Ltd, Mohammad Ruhul Amin Sikder, secretary general, BICDA
Alhaj Khalilur Rahman is also the founding president of the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he currently serves as president.
His appointment is expected to bring renewed leadership and strategic direction to BICDA, which plays a critical role in the country's export-import logistics chain.
Nurul Qayyum Khan, also the chairman of QNS Container Services Ltd, stepped down from the presidency on 15 June after serving the organisation for over 15 years since its establishment in 2010.
Before BICDA, he held the position of general secretary in its predecessor organisation, the Private Inland Container Depot Owners Association (PICDA).
