The scholarship was awarded in the inauguration ceremony, titled "Youngone–CIU Academic Excellence Scholarship & Internship Support Program", held on Saturday, 28 June

Six students from Chittagong Independent University (CIU) have been awarded the Youngone–CIU Academic Excellence Scholarship for the Summer 2025 semester, in recognition of their academic merit and potential for leadership in the global workforce.
The scholarship was awarded in the inauguration ceremony, titled "Youngone–CIU Academic Excellence Scholarship & Internship Support Program", held on Saturday, 28 June, at the conference hall of the Korean EPZ in Chattogram. The event was graced by the Founder Chairman and CEO of Youngone Corporation and Korean EPZ, Kihak Sung, who attended as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the awardees, according to a press release.
In his remarks, Sung said, "Bangladeshi youth are incredibly talented and hardworking. By partnering with an institution like CIU, which is dedicated to quality education, we aim to nurture these promising students into globally competent leaders. This scholarship is a golden opportunity that will not only enhance their confidence but also open up new career paths."
The scholarship program stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in February 2025 between Youngone Corporation and CIU. Under this agreement, Youngone pledged an annual fund of Tk1.096 crore to support CIU students. In continuation of this initiative, six students have been selected through a competitive evaluation process. All are enrolled in either the BSc in Computer Science & Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering under the CIU School of Science & Engineering, or in the BBA program under CIU Business School.
The selected students will receive a full tuition waiver for the entirety of their undergraduate studies. Additionally, they will gain access to internship opportunities at Youngone Corporation and may be offered job placements upon successful completion. The program also includes mentorship and guidance for higher studies at universities in Korea. The scholarship is expected to continue each semester with new awardees.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including CIU Board of Trustees Chairman Lutfe M Ayub, trustees Mirza Mohammed Jamshed Ali, Syed Mahmudul Huq, Engr. Amir Humayun Mahmud Chowdhury, and Safia Ghazi Rahman, CIU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. M. Nurul Absar, Youngone Corporation's Managing Director Shahinur Rahman, and high-ranking officials from both CIU and Youngone.
Rooma Dass, Assistant Registrar of CIU, hosted the event, while the welcome address was delivered by Colonel Shahjahan.
