Two dengue patients died and 392 have been hospitalised across the country during the last 24 hours till this morning (25 June).

"During the period, 118 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division while 43 were hospitalised in Chattogram, 43 in Dhaka division, 26 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 45 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 16 in Khulna, five in Mymensingh, one in Sylhet and 29 were admitted to different hospitals in Rajshahi division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of cases rose to 8,870 while 36 deaths from dengue, the mosquito-borne disease, were reported this year.

During the same period, 319 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from the dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
