A Dhaka court today (23 June) imposed a travel ban on former foreign minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and his wife Nuran Fatema over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The court also ordered to freeze his nine bank accounts and 12 bank accounts of his wife over the same allegations. It also ordered to seize a SUV of the former minister.

The ACC earlier on 6 April, filed two separate cases against the couple over amassment of illegal wealth of Tk6.63 crore and suspicious transactions of Tk722 crore.
