The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has frozen the bank accounts of 25 celebrities, including Moushumi, Bappa Raj, and Nusrat Faria, due to outstanding tax liabilities.

Tax Region-12 of the NBR issued the directive in a letter dated 15 June.

Alongside the bank account suspension, official notices were also sent to the individuals' registered addresses.

An NBR official, wishing anonymity, told TBS that the measure was taken against individuals who failed to pay their taxes on time.

"While some have since settled their dues and others have requested extensions, most had not paid despite receiving multiple prior notices. The accounts will remain frozen until the outstanding taxes are cleared," he said.
