Bangladesh records 2 Covid-related deaths, 15 new cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh has recorded two more Covid-19-linked deaths and 15 fresh cases in the 24 hours between 8am yesterday and 8am today (13 June).
With the new numbers, the country's total fatalities rose to 29,502 and confirmed cases to 2,051,800, according to the daily press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Both of the deceased were women. One of them died in Dhaka and the other in Chattogram, according to DGHS.
The daily case test positivity rate stood at 8.62% as 174 samples were tested in the 24 hours. The overall test positivity rate still stands at 13.05%.
The recovery and death rates remained at 98.42% and 1.44%, respectively.
Recently, a spike in Covid-19 cases has been noticed, growing concern over the viral disease.
Earlier on 5 June, Bangladesh reported one more Covid-19-linked death.
Meanwhile, the number of people who have recovered across the country now stands at 20,19,401.
