At least 95 Palestinians were killed and over 440 others injured in Israeli airstrikes and ground operations across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, according to the enclave's Health Ministry.

The total death toll from Israel's ongoing assault since October 2023, has now climbed to 54,607, with 125,341 others wounded.

Two additional bodies were recovered from the rubble of previous attacks, further highlighting the devastating toll of the war, reports Al Jazeera, quoting the ministry.

Since breaking a ceasefire in March this year, Israel has killed 4,335 Palestinians and injured 13,300, according to official figures.

Meanwhile, Israel's military has warned Gaza residents to stay away from roads leading to aid distribution points managed by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is set to remain closed for an entire day.

The military cited "renovation, reorganisation, and efficiency improvement work" as the reason for the halt in aid operations.

The closure comes amid growing concerns about famine-like conditions in the enclave, where aid access has been severely restricted for months.

In diplomatic developments, the United Nations Security Council is expected to vote on a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza. However, the measure is likely to be vetoed by the United States.

The conflict erupted after the Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, which killed approximately 1,139 people and led to the abduction of more than 200 individuals.
