Bank branches near cattle markets asked to carry on transactions till 10pm before Eid
The Bangladesh Bank has asked banks to keep open any bank branches or sub-branches adjacent to cattle markets in Dhaka and Chattogram for convenience in transactions.
At the same time, banking activities of these branches have been asked to be conducted till 10pm, according to a circular issued today.
The regulator has given the instruction to facilitate the banking transactions of sacrificial animal traders.
The central bank was also instructed to set up a provisional ATM booth in the market for sacrificial animals along with ensuring necessary security.
In addition, instructions were given to provide allowances to officers and employees performing extra duties in the branches, sub-branches, and booths as per the rules.
