Several people were injured after a cable snapped and the lift fell at the Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDBL) building in the capital's Karwan Bazar area.
The incident occurred this morning (27 May), according to a witness present at the scene.
The lift fell from the 13th floor after its cable snapped, leaving five people seriously injured.

Tejgaon police station Inspector (Investigation) Md Nazmul Jannat Shah confirmed the matter to The Business Standards.
The injured have been taken to hospital.
