BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has taken the responsibility for treatment of four July warriors who allegedly attempted to commit suicide in hospital bed last night (25 May).

Getting the news, a team of Amra BNP Paribar led by BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed rushed to the hospital at the directives of Tarique Rahman and took responsibility for their treatment.

They inquired about the physical condition of the four who lost their eyesight in the mass uprising. Rizvi conveyed sympathy to the July fighters on behalf of Tarique Rahman.

BNP Health Affairs Assistant Secretary Dr Parvez Reza Kakon and former joint secretary general of DAB Dr ANM Monowarul Qadir Bitu and member secretary of Amra BNP Paribar Moksedul Momin Mithun were present.

It was alleged that the four July fighters who were undergoing treatment at National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), consumed poison being frustrated over the lack of progress in their treatment and rehabilitation.

The four- Shimul, Maruf, Sagar and Akhtar Hossain alias Taher were immediately shifted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for detoxification, and now they are out of danger, Nitor Director Professor Dr Khair Ahmed Chowdhury confirmed.
