Army Chief Asim Munir becomes Pakistan's first Field Marshal after Ayub Khan

Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal, a statement from Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's office said on May 20. This marks the first time in six decades that a general in Pakistan's military has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.
