Unico hospital celebrates world family doctor day 2025

In collaboration with the Bangladesh Family Medicine Society, Unico Hospital Dhaka, Bangladesh, celebrated World Family Doctor Day 2025 from May 17-19.

The event, themed "Building Mental Resilience in a Changing World," highlighted the crucial role of family physicians through a series of engaging programmes.

The inaugural day featured a scientific seminar with renowned speakers discussing key topics in family medicine, including mental health management and the care of chronic diseases. By integrating the Family Medicine concept in healthcare with specialised services, Unico Hospital proposes to ensure cost-effective, coordinated, and personalised care for individuals and families across all ages and medical conditions. The department aligns with global best practices, reinforcing Unico Hospital's leadership in reshaping healthcare delivery in Bangladesh.

Chief Executive Officer Ardra Kurien at Unico Hospital stated, "This celebration reaffirms our commitment to advancing family medicine practice in Bangladesh. The Family medicine department in Unico Hospital represents a paradigm shift towards preventive and continuous patient-centred care."

Thousands of community members, including healthcare professionals, participated in various events over the three days. Unico Hospital plans to build on the success of this initiative by implementing regular programs to enhance primary healthcare services nationwide.
