EC cautions citizens against fake social media ads on NID services

The Election Commission (EC) has urged citizens not to be misled by advertisements circulating on social media platforms regarding National Identity (NID) card-related services.
The EC, in a press release today (15 May), stated that a large number of fake IDs and pages are circulating advertisements on various social media platforms, luring the public with NID-related services, which are unauthorised.
In fact, various information and video content related to voter list updating and national identity cards are regularly published on these two pages: Bangladesh Election Commission Secretariat (page link http://www.facebook.com/@BangladeshECS) managed by the EC Secretariat and National ID Card (page link http://www.facebook.com/bd.nid) managed by the National Identity Registration Division and IDEA Project (Phase 2).
