Ctg customs puts 30 imported concrete mixers lorries up for auction 

Chattogram Customs has initiated the auction of 30 imported Sany-branded concrete mixer lorries through an e-auction this morning (7 May).

These 10-wheeled vehicles, imported in 2023, were auctioned by the Auction Branch of the Chattogram Custom House.

According to the auction catalogue, all 30 lorries arrived at the Chattogram Port in brand-new condition last year and remain unused. Interested bidders can submit their proposed prices between 7 May and 21 May, with the bidding deadline set for 2:00pm on the final day.

Potential buyers will have the opportunity to inspect the vehicles during a two-day exhibition on 13 and 14 May.

Bijon Kumar Talukder, revenue officer of the Auction Branch, told The Business Standard, "We have organised the auction of 30 lorries brought in by an individual importer. These have been listed individually so that any interested buyer can purchase one or more units."

"Two different reserve price categories have been set: 15 of the vehicles are valued at Tk63,72,419 each, while the remaining fifteen have a reserve price of Tk75,91,491 apiece," he added.

Mohammad Yakub, general secretary of the Auctioneers Welfare Association, expressed optimism about the auction, stating, "Bidders are likely to show strong interest since the auction process is moving quickly. The catalogue indicates that the vehicles are in good condition, though the actual state will be clearer during the exhibition."

He also noted that while the expedited auction is a positive move, setting lower reserve prices could have helped customs generate revenue more quickly through faster sales
