JERA Meghnaghat appoints Yasunori Katsumata as new CEO

JERA Meghnaghat Power Limited (JMPL) has appointed Yasunori Katsumata as new chief executive officer.
With over 20 years of distinguished leadership in the energy sector, Katsumata brings a wealth of experience to lead JMPL through its next phase of growth and operations, reads a press release.
Since joining JMPL in August 2024 as chief administrative officer, Mr. Katsumata has played a pivotal role in the development of the JMPL gas-fired power plant located at Meghnaghat in Narayanganj.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive international experience.
He has served as general manager of renewables at JERA Americas in the United States and as senior vice-president of the International Business Development at Electric Generating Company Limited (EGCO) in Thailand.
Katsumata was also a member of the Board of Directors at Mekong Energy Limited, an independent power producer that led the development of the Phu My 2.2 power plant in Vietnam.
