Two-day fish festival kicks off Tuesday at CVASU
The event will bring together 550 participants, including teachers, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, consumers, and representatives from 26 universities and 95 fisheries-related organisations

Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) is set to host the two-day 'Fish Festival 2025' on April 29 and 30, marking the 10th anniversary of its Faculty of Fisheries.
In collaboration with the Bangladesh Shrimp and Fish Foundation (BSFF), the event will take place on the university campus, featuring an international scientific conference, product and innovation showcases, and a job fair.
Professor Dr Sheikh Ahmad Al Nahid, dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and convener of the festival committee, announced that the event will bring together 550 participants, including teachers, students, researchers, entrepreneurs, consumers, and representatives from 26 universities and 95 fisheries-related organisations.
The scientific conference will see a distinguished group of scientists from national and international universities and research institutions present 350 research papers, with the keynote address delivered by Professor Dr Md Abdul Wahab.
The festival will also feature well-decorated stalls where various organizations will display their products, services, and innovations.
Participating companies will collect resumes from job seekers attending the job fair, providing opportunities for career advancement in the fisheries sector.
The opening ceremony will be graced by Professor Dr. Mashuma Habib, Member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, as the chief guest, while Farida Akhter, Adviser for Fisheries and Livestock, will attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
The event is patronised by CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Lutfur Rahman, with overall management overseen by Professor Dr Sheikh Ahmad Al Nahid.
