Govt has decided to form two PSCs: Asif Mahmud

The interim government has decided to establish two separate Public Service Commissions (PSCs), according to Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, the adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives.
In a post published on his Facebook profile today (27 April), he mentioned that the issue was discussed in detail at the most recent Advisory Council meeting.
"Following discussions about delays and irregularities, the government decided to form two PSCs to address the students' concerns," added Asif, who also oversees the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Job-seeking students demonstrated in the capital's Shahbagh area yesterday (26 April), demanding reforms in the PSC with a seven-point charter of demands.
They also blocked the Shahbagh intersection this afternoon.
"Although there was a plan to meet with a delegation of protestors last Monday, unfortunately, the meeting could not take place. However, the students' demands have been conveyed to the authorities concerned," Asif wrote in his post.
