On August 29, Russel Ahmed along with his four accomplices, all from Pabna Sadar upazila, allegedly abducted the victim of the same upazila and gang-raped her for four days.

After escaping the scene, the woman shared the incident with her relatives and was admitted to Pabna General Hospital on September 5.

Later, the victim submitted a written complaint to Pabna Sadar police station. The police detained Russel but did not file any case at that time.

Instead, the police allegedly forced the woman to divorce her husband and marry Russel on September 6.

OC Obaidul Haque was served a show-cause notice for his alleged involvement in this matter.

The High Court bench today said they will take legal steps after observing the government's action.
